(1) Candidates should have either one of the following qualifications-
(i) completed Secondary three education, or equivalent; and with three years of relevant working experience.
(ii) completed Primary six education, or equivalent; and with six years of relevant working experience.
(iii) completed an approved and relevant Printing Apprenticeship Scheme.
(iv) a Diploma in Vocational Studies in Advertising, Packaging and Printing; or a Technician Foundation Certificate in Printing Digital Workflow Production from the Vocational Training Council, or equivalent; and with two years of relevant working experience.
(2) Candidates should be able to independently and skillfully operate guillotine (Polar 115), folding machine (MBO, Stahl) , high speed saddle-stitching line (Martini 390), perfect binding line (Kolbus), perfect binding machine (JMD) or collating machine (Maxima).
(3) Candidates are required to attain a level of proficiency in Chinese and English languages equivalent to Primary 6 standard.
(1) Candidates will have to pass a trade test.
(2) Good knowledge of various binding machines listed above will be an advantage.
(3) Salary is not paid for meal break.
(4) Working hours and the number of hours of work in each shift are subject to prevailing operational needs and are not fixed. There is no guarantee on the minimum hours of work in any given period. Candidates are normally required to work overnight on weekdays (Monday to Friday).

A Binding Machine Operator is mainly responsible for operating binding machines, including guillotine (Polar 115), folding machine (MBO, Stahl) , high speed saddle-stitching line (Martini 390), perfect binding line (Kolbus), perfect binding machine (JMD) or collating machine (Maxima); and performing related duties.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for twelve months. Subject to continual operational needs, employees with good performance may have opportunity for contract renewal after completion of the first contract.
Fringe benefits such as rest days and statutory holidays will be granted in line with the provision of the Employment Ordinance and the contract terms.
