Part-time Project Officer (Citizenship and Social Development) (EDB/CDI/212/24)
Salary:
$471 per hour (Required to work 16 hours per week)
Entry Requirements:
(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in Citizenship and Social Development (CS) related subject (e.g. Chinese History, History, Geography, Economics), or equivalent [See Note (i)];
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [See Note (i)];
(c) At least 6 years' relevant post-qualification experience [as specified in (a) and (b) above] in teaching in secondary school and/or curriculum and resources development of CS related subjects [See Note (ii)]; and
(d) Candidates who possess a higher degree (e.g. a second/higher degree) related to curriculum development and/or educational management, or equivalent preferred [See Note (i)].
Note:
(i) Candidates should mark clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree courses. Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. qualifications stated in part (d) of Entry Requirements) should include details in their applications.
(ii) Candidates should state the nature and relevant post-qualification work experience (e.g. subjects taught, position held, experience stated in part (c) of Entry Requirements) as well as the dates of experience.
(iii) Candidates should be responsible, self-motivated and enthusiastic; have a fine character and integrity; be committed to serve in the education field; be able to communicate effectively in Cantonese, Putonghua and English; and proficiency in written English and Chinese.
Duties:
(a) To support the implementation of the Citizenship and Social Development (CS) curriculum at the senior secondary level, including developing learning and teaching resources to support the CS Mainland study tours and the production of curriculum resources;
(b) To assist in organising professional development programmes/network activities for teachers in support of the implementation of the CS curriculum;
(c) To assist in organising CS Mainland study tours for teachers;
(d) To review textbooks and related resource materials;
(e) To assist in organising student activities; and
(f) To undertake any other duties as assigned.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.
